Ostrich Media Co.
We can't keep our heads in the sand forever.
in production
A short documentary on mental health care in America.
His Attitude (With Apologies to the Ostrich). Herbert Johnson, 1916. Library of Congress
Why Ostrich?
Ostriches don't actually bury their heads in the sand, but people definitely do. And it's not a new phenomenon. In 1916, cartoonist Herbert Johnson drew Uncle Sam doing just that: convincing himself that the good times would last, despite the storm gathering behind him. At Ostrich Media Co., we're taking our heads out of the sand, even when we'd rather not.
